Yes, I have been using google and other search engines for around 17 years.

Was just a question, why the attitude?

Good lad.

I just googled your question "
does anyone know how expensive solar tiles work out to be?" and found pages of answers to it.

I also found from looking at a tuppence ha'penny compass that the pointer pointed to the North, and from that was able to ascertain that my house faces South. ;)

tuppence halfpenny????? i've just stoked a sewing needle with a magnet and tied a piece of cotton to it. cost nowt, and our house faces buttonhole.

Just thinking outside of the box here but...

Do you get on well with next door and would they consider Solar?

If so I'd fill up your SE facing roof with solar panels for both of you, you would be able to put alot more on then and the would get a better payback and more electricity generated then faffing about with the current hip end, or putting panels on dormers. Plus it'll be a little cheaper for both as you are sharing scaffolding and roofer costs.

Obviously if you are doing an extension with dormers than this isn't an option.

Just a thought!

or consider a wind generator. this can be fiited to the gable end similarly to a TV aerial, on a pole. (take your pick as to whether it's a north pole or a south pole)

to the OP your roof space is inadequate for solar pv for you to see any benefit (GIVE UP)!!!!!!
HAVE SOME SOLAR THERMAL, and underfloor heating,LED lighting instead, and i doubt your eligble for a small wind turbine too

And when either of you comes to sell your house, oops!!!

Customer may be partially sighted, blind or suffer from an extreme version of parallax error, due to pronounced eye squints.

In that case all the above would be useless.

:13:

Or he could just be a wind-up merchant.

The Suncalc website is useful in helping people understand the behaviour of the sun around

their respective properties, at different times of the day / year.

www.suncalc.net

Enter the location, date, then click now.

Move map till you find your exact location, then click on map.

A circle will appear showing the elliptical orbit of the sun.

The different coloured lines indicate, sunrise, current location of the sun and sunset.

You can set the date later in the year, and see how the suns orbit changes.
