Hi so i am doing a test on sockets on a ring Final circuit for family member. Got my end to ends r1 0.62, rn 0.64, r2 0.97, identified opposite r1's+rn's for figure of 8 joined in connector blocks. set up Kewtech KT63 multifunction tester nulled leads and plug adapter and tested at sockets at got a reading of 0.00? Any advice on why this might be would be greatly appreciated and enhance my understanding

Should have got 0.4 so one must assume there is a dead short between E-N. Have you tried testing with probes directly onto the terminals in socket? Maybe something plugged in still?

Try nulling leads again, or try without nulling.
It’s difficult to null a plug adaptor and I’m wondering if something happened.
Is R1+R2 ok?

Thank you for reply I'm going back 2moro to look into it properly when kids at school, so i can take sockets off and carry out a proper test and inspection. will report back if i still have issues or if i resolve problem, thank you again for reply much appreciated
