Wire runs

Right this ones a little difficult to describe so here goes. Im going to be working in a semi detached house undertaking a re-wire, my problem is the CU is under ther stairs which go up turn 90degree up again turn another 90degree therefore in effect turning back on themselves to the first floor. Downstairs is solid floor so need to drop all wires from above. Just trying to decide the best run for my cables 11 in total. Do i go straight up the landing wall chiseling out a large section of plaster then into the loft and drop down through a cupboard into the first floor. Is it possible to fish through the cavity either again straight up and into the loft or on a diagonal up to the first floor (don't think allowed). The cavity is empty so no worries about allowing for cables in insulation. And no chance of surface mounting in conduit as there is a window under the second half landing. Phew!!! Hope i made myself clear. Look forward to some input thanks.

is there any way you could fish up the stairs ie beetween the bottom of the treads and the plasterboard that covers them??

I could take the plasterboard off the understairs on clip to back of each step then nail batton on stairs spacing plasterboard off wires. would be a staggered run!

would the diagonal cavity option be bad practice in your eyes.

i guess its about cost and ease you could leave exsisting plasterboard on then battern off that and re board
any idea how exsisting cables run

it's a very very old install think it's orginal.on inspection the are in metal tubing then go into cavity to first floor

like the idea of understairs then box out and over board. got to have plasterer for a day anyway. thaks for advice.

Might be best to relocate the supply and consumer unit. What if the stairs get replaced in the future?

thanks for the input. under the stairs couldnt be done in the end as too many twists and turns. had to go straight up the landing wall with a massive chase as customer didnt want boxing in or trunking. alot harder and more wire to run but alll in alll a neater job and customer was happy. thats alll that matters.
