You guys obviously prefer to make people feel bad rather than give out advice - not exactly very friendly to new members but hey I can take that . Yes I did note the wiring prior to disconnecting the original light and I put the new light in exactly the same way. If the switch was blown how would that manifest itself - would the switch not work the light and it would not switch on at all?

Try to be a bit more constructive guys - it's like having a conversation with the two guys in the box from the muppets!

It's not a DIY forum that's why people don't give advice!!

This is a forum for sparks who have spent thousands of pounds on training and who have put decades into learning thier craft. Its not a place to give out advice to all and sundry.

You have been given an excellant piece of advice which is to get the yellow pages and call an electrician what more do you want?

Yea, they have nothing better to do with there time, u need to find out witch pair of conductors goes to the switch that's all

As MDJ said about ÂŁ40 to sort out the problem.
Fair enough you have had a go but don't make matters worse by just playing with the wires.
it could just get expensive or you could get hurt.
Just call someone in.

How many times have you been called out for this one, I have just changed my light and it blowing the fuse - mcb

good luck sounds like you have put one of the cable's in wrong or maybe 2 or 3 lol

I'm just off to Hartlepool to buy some exploding trousers!
There are many things that influence an electrical system, but extreme conditions such as heat and cold have the biggest impact. Other things to consider include flammability, and this is especially important in the petrochemical industry and food industry
Thanks.

Do the Mr.Bean trick on it. Just shoot it to turn it off, replace bulb in morning.

you must connect the auxiliary ultimate switching conductor to the continium transfunctioner.

Sorry mate your wrong, first connection to be made is to the plutonium 357 reactor, wait until it has reached critical mass to allow for fission power to be enabled, spark off the chain reaction then throw the main switch, then he will light his bedroom up.

For God's sake someone help him, I've seen people giving out much more involved answers to people who profess to be sparks who haven't got a clue about electrical installation, like what size? what sort of? how do I? What is? lol

@ OP. you have 2 tingly reds they go together. then the black that tingles when you switch the switch is a tingly black and that goes to the bulb. the other black is not tingly unless it,s got an open circuit back the the magic box of fuses and the switch is on with the bulb in. this black goes to the other side of the bulb.
