Stop guessing! lol.

There are binmen earning over ÂŁ40k a year in the uk.

But I will try and explain the pay scale even though you don't really deserve an explanation because you are so rude.

The lbc I worked at used a set of very bizarre nationally agreed local government rates. The sparks were on a very low basic rate (no idea what it was). But from memory they got paid something like 40p extra to replace a light switch, which is a ridiculously low amount of money. But then they claimed for testing and there was only one rate of about ÂŁ30. The sparks were also supported by a communist councillor and thats why they were allowed to get away with their rip off and earn over ÂŁ50K per year.

You obviously know very little about how lbc's work, but I can assure you all the bosses are terrified of councillors because they are like roman emperors, get a thumbs down and you've had it.

i know a dinner lady, she gets paid 10p for every yorkshire pudding she makes and ÂŁ50 per yorky to make sure its crispy..

wheres the 50k sparks then..i wait while you troll tinternet

For obvious reasons I'm not saying where.

I've stated facts with explanations and couldn't care less about people who know nothing about how lbc's and councillors work. But are stupidly prepared to try and argue about something they nothing about.

Just keep paying your council tax. lol

Edit - heres a spark on a good council earner - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6982335.ece

Bin men don't work for the councils anymore, they are employed by private companies!! But that's another subject...

I don't believe i've been rude at all, ...not unless you mean that i disagree with you that is!! I find it extremely hard to believe that council sparks were/are on 52K a year, in fact i just don't believe it. There would be intensive investigations/audits on that dept's annual salary bill, and looking to cut personnel, rates, allowances etc. There are very few Engineers (if any) on the council that are on that sort of money, unless they are one of the bosses...

Don't just assume i know absolutely nothing about local councils. As i told you earlier, i have family members working in a local council, one who has done so for many years. He now runs a section of building inspectors, and a civil Engineer by profession. I doubt very much if he is on 52K a year. But what he does get, or will at the end of this year, is a very good Pension, based on his final salary...

Edit - heres a spark on a good council earner - Birmingham city council electrician is paid ÂŁ124,000 - Times Online

in laymans terms you cant..if i surf long enough im sure i'll find a spark who has landed on the moon,or a binman who puts ya bin back where he found it...

Dont get me wrong theres money to be made if you put the hours in, you can have a ten hour day if you wish, and weekends at time and half and double hours.

But ÂŁ50,000+ and i'd be surprised.

To the OP, yes take the job do what you can to get it. Its more of a career than most crap jobs out there at the moment.
You will get many benefits on top of that, probably a council van for personal use too.

lol, what do you think 'ÂŁ1000 for 9- 4 mon to thurs' means. And do you know anything about lbc rates? obviously not! Are you saying I'm lying?

I WILL not say your Lying BUT last time I saw an L.A. offering work it was @ ÂŁ9.35 ph for approved electrician on 12mth contract not the lifelong ones you use to get The multipliers for pay rates were not bad as was the oncall, call out money but the basic was PANTS directly employed use to be great TsnCs but thats all stopping as well
to make a grand a week with any of the L.As near me you would have to be doing the kitchens even then its gwent down recently

We have a new member join us and what does he find?

He finds people willing to help and a totally noxious little troll running around out of control.

Welcome truckermot, please excuse the troll.

Tony, .... Truckermot has been a member longer than both of us!!! lol!! He probably joined when first started training.

BTW I have worked for a local authority a couple of times books in and twice I entered the 405 tax bracket BUT that was due to doing gritting ,oncall once a fortnight and LOADS n LOADS of calls iv put details on previous posts As OXO says the methods of "bonus book" pay and those who know their way round the system it is possible to earn loads on paper but a grand a week would be investigated at the highest level and probably result in times being cut due to one or 2 knowing how to sharpen their pencils

Since joining this forum I've learnt nobody is allowed to contradict engineer 54 (works in china that makes him important) and Tony (worked in heavy industry that makes him important) and they both deeply resent any new members views because they're post count gives them superiority.

And now I'm being called a troll, for stating some facts that the two of them can't understand and resent. All I've done is to post some facts based on actual experience and some links as evidence of my statements. I doubt if either of them have properly read what I have posted or read the links.

To both of them I would say don't be frightened theres room for everyone. So as I'm now being called a troll I won't contribute anymore to this thread but stand by every word I've posted - is that ok with you Tony? Do you approve my actions?

Do you have some sort of inferiority complex or something?? Are we the only two members that think your suggestion of council sparks are/were on salaries of 52K is a nonsense, .....NOPE quite a few have commented on this. Listen, ...if i think you, or anyone else come to that is posting misleading information, i will comment on that post statement. I'm as important as you or anybody else on this forum. Where the hell do you get this resentment crap from?? Geezus, get a life mate!!!

Ok I will respond (against my better judgement), why would I post about ÂŁ52K salaries if it was'nt true? have you looked at the links demonstrating ridiculous rates of pay?

Seems like your getting a little angry, thats a good method of getting people to agree with you but it also gives you a misleading sense of superiority, just because people say they agree doesn't mean they do, its because they feel intimidated.

And I think the inferiority problem is all on your side, and please don't call me mate, cos I'm not your mate.

Anyway, thats me out of here.
