A mate just moved into a flat and has asked me to sort out a few things with the electrics, mainly convert some single sockets to doubles.

Unfortunately for me, everything has been run in singles in metal conduit without a CPC.

Need to get hold of some backing boxes with the appropriate sized knockouts to take the imperial conduit fittings correctly, but having a hard time finding them at my usual suppliers.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers!

Just noticed reading through, he was on about opening up a 20mm to 3/4, hence the comment which brought your response.
Think I was the 1st to mention 5/8.
No prob, time for bed.

M16 and M20 are the nearest common thread sizes. M18 exists but not common in everyday use.

You need an old fashioned bolt and fastenings shop or engineering supplies place really, they're the kind of people who will likely have something imperial to actually fit.

M16 should do the job...

DCF, I've heard of the Lewden adaptors, but only found one place selling them and they were HUGELY expensive!

Cheers for the help chaps, reckon I've got this one sorted!
