Hi sparkies!

We've got a consumer unit like this:

[ElectriciansForums.net] Would you bother to change this consumer board?

We can get it changed to a more modern one for around £350. I wondered who thinks it is worth it and what benefits a new one would bring if it is worth changing?

Cheers

Max

PS - please let me know if further information is needed.....

I have realized that this post is a piece of nonsense yet again someone comes on the forum to ask the bleeding obvious that yes its now time to upgrade but wants someone to convince him that he does not have to do it so it turn if someone gets electrocuted then I never made the decision not to upgrade to a safety RCD CU I took advice from professionals so that I could go out and book that weekend away or buy those new wheels for my car so to the OP stop being so bloody miserable and spend the £300 and sleep better at night if not well you live with the risk whilst you clean and polish your new wheels

Whenever I offer advice, it's always on the "What would I do if it were mine?" basis.
If it were mine, I would change it. Just make sure you ask for a full spread of tests when it's done, and not follow the "It's only a CU change, so nothing has to be tested" mentality.
