all pricework in ma company so wage varies from week to week, you can have a good week or a very bad week, doesn't help that you get messed about by the boss who is always trying to do you out of money. It does happen there are a lot of fly employers ot there who can mess you about cuz they know they can get away with it

im doing a 2 year advance 2330 course which i am comming to the end of the first year, im 26 anyone have any idea what hourly rate i should be on as im asking for a rise in the next couple of months so im wanting a rough figure what i can ask for??? any ideas
not sure what catagory i fall under on the jib scale, i think its senior trainee year2 but not sure?? cheers

your jib rate should be senior graded elec trainee approx $10.29 no increases till your qualified

Northern Ireland rates although they have the same JIB rates as the mainland are very poor. Someone posted to say look for £14-15 minimum. It would be very hard to find a job paying more than £11-12 for an electrical foreman working in industrial environments here. As a guide a sparky working full time on domestic will probably earn about £8/hr. I design, organise materials, build and install industrial electrical control panels on top of organising other workers and get paid not much more than £8 although i'm not goin to say what. I also have to work 45 hours a week and don't get an overtime rate even when I have to travel to the mainland to commison work I don't get any allowance for being away from home.

This is because competition for work here is fierce and I count myself lucky that I have, what I consider here in Northern ireland, a fairly well paid job. I earn more than the Northern Ireland national average.
