Hi,

Nice easy one, I have a gas pipe, its metal, but painted, no supply to properly, its just capped, but live.

As for bonding, what would you do? Just sand some paint off and bung a clamp on it? That's my thoughts, whats yours? I know you are meant to only put it supply side, but there isn't one.

just to digrees from a boring gas pipe. last week was nosing on a site in turkey. new 6 storey hotel. all the usual signs at the site entrance, but not a hard hat to be seen, every worker in trainers, the only thing hi-vis was bald heads under a hot sun. scaffolding climbed with not a ladder to be seen.

in the local hospital there were no crushed skulls, no flattened feet, nobody impaled on the forks of a stacker truck, in fact, nothing to laugh at at all. makes you wonder.

Is it gas pipe or is it a pipe with gas in it, would gas bored just leave a supply to house with no meter think about it you can just con up and all your heating will be free , think they would cut of in street, ring them up and ask, or just take paint off pipe with something and bond then test all good at end day, you can go home put feet up and what for next job

Be assured it very probably will be, but I have to ask what would the presence - or not - of gas in the pipe have to do with the issue of does it need bonding?? :dead:

Was just replying to post 143 about the availability of free un metered gas. Daz

Think it's to do with it's a pipe, you can not see what's in in but you think something is in it, so your mind start thinking what's in in, then you think s..t it's a gas pipe and I do want to touch it, but if it was a water pipe you would just get the sharpes thing out tool box get the paint of and bound it test go home have dinner, beer go to bed
