hi all
i have my 2391 practical 0n the 15th, and using a fluke not sure of it
my question is when testing ze on a 3phase board test between all lines and disconnected earthing conductor which leads are used and where to connect not sure if i need to connect neutral for power for meter

and same for single phase line to earth he told us not to disconnect earth on his board

cheers for any assistance

i'd guess board is set up with no parallel fault paths -so earth is left connected

This is quite possibly true but according to single phase testing of the Ze

'the means of earthing must be disconnected from the installation earthed equipotential bonding for the duration of the test to remove all parrallel paths'
.

Id imagine it would be tested in the same way as single phase between each phase to earth and if the neutral lead is needed its connected to the earth croc. clip.(Unsure completely on this). Somebody correct me if I am wrong as im new to this aswell. :D

i'm assuming it's left connected for safety purposes with no parallel paths -unlike the real world testing

"it is 3 phase had the paralell paths"

what do you mean?
sorry mate the single phase had no extraneous coductive parts
the three phase does have a protective bonding conductor for a water pipe
soory mate didnt explain it well

but how do i connect the leads of the fluke tester for single phase board
earth lead to main earthing terminal
where do i connect the neutral
and the line lead goes to the incoming supply side of the main isolator in this case a (30mA rcd)

Earth (green lead) goes to the disconnected earth, neutral (blue lead) connect to the neutral bar and the live lead will go to each phase in turn, dont forget you need test both the PEFC and PSCC, F1 button changes the function.

if you remember you're looking for the highest readings possible when testing it might help

Ze and PFC(pscc and pefc)

so thats -no parallel paths for Ze

and parallel paths in place for PFC

Cheers Mark ,
he told us for three phase was always higher between lines so measure all lines to neutral and multiply highest x2 as this would always be higher
But if asked in written exam do i also include testing the pefc all Lines to earth

i am not used to this tester so was getting a little confused so
On the single phase board
for pefc earth(green lead) on earthing terminal told us we didnt have to disconnect this for the single phase ccu
neutral (Blue lead) on incoming side of rcd main switch
line lead on line incoming supply side of rcd test record result

for pscc earth lead and neutral lead on neutral supply side of rcd (main isolator)
line lead
record the highest which is pfc
where do the leads for ZE on single phase board go do i need the (blue lead) neutral connected to the neutral for power??
thanks for your advice

ya on a 3-phase board you can double the highest L-N fault current

for single phase you'd need to measure both L-E and L-N and take the highest reading

you only need to disconnect main earth for Ze (if you're told to)

afraid i'm not familiar wth meter

cheers mate,
i have my 2391 written on thursday 10th and practical assessment on the 15th of june so needed to make sure as i have a megger 1552 and for practical will be using a fluke and i am not used to it thanks

hi mate so do i still need to do the pefc for the three phase board for my practical assessment for the 2391 exam
