Is TNS permitted on caravan site? I always thought you could use as TNS as supply cable then TT each pitch, spark I’m working with says you can use TNS all way through if ZS is acceptable
Thanks
Thanks
Here is a quote from BS7430 (earthing Code of Practice):ESQCR are does NOT allow pme conditions to a static caravan! It does allow it for buildings on parks, not the vans themselves
Here we go.
Just because the supply to the installation is TN-S, doesn’t mean PME conditions do not apply.
It’s why BS7671 states “where PME conditions apply”, rather than saying “where the earthing system is TN-C-S”.
Yes ESQCR does prohibit the use of PME for Caravan pitches.
However it does not prohibit the use of PME for static Caravans or for other permanent structures on Caravan sites.
Here is a quote from BS7430 (earthing Code of Practice):
"NOTE Residential caravans which are not normally intended to be moved from a caravan park are regarded as permanent buildings."
No, it’s not.Regardless, BS7671 is clear that a PME cannot be used.
Well, the B and N are next to each other on a keyboard, so...Not sure what TB-S is?
ESQCR allows the use of PME on caravan sites for permanent buildings.Crystal clear.
If it’s not TN-S then fine.If it is as you put it ‘A TN-S with PME conditions’ then it is not a TN-S is it?
It is up the the DNO to ensure their supply arrangement is clear not for us to go around asking questions.
ESQCR allows the use of PME on caravan sites for permanent buildings.
BS 7430, the earthing Code Of Practice that the DNOs’ use, states static caravans are regarded as permanent buildings.
Actually, it does:Like I said BS7671 dors not so if you do you are not following BS7671. Very simple.
Actually, it does:
708.411.4 TN system
The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR) prohibit the connection of a PME earthing facility to any metalwork in a leisure accommodation vehicle (including a caravan).
This does not preclude the use of a PME earthing facility as the means of earthing for other purposes, such as to the installations of permanent buildings.
NOTE: The requirements of other sections of Part 7 may also apply.
No not really. So what i said earlier then!!!
