Just tested a flat no cpc to lights and switches , so on the report class 2 etc etc but the people are selling and there are 4 metal light fittings which are now pendants but I know from what's been asked and hinted he will put the metal lights back up nothing I can do to cover myself

what should i do

Just did a test on a flat but no cpc to the lighting so took down the 4 metal lights , there are 7 in total , and put up pendants . The flat has just been sold. Though from what's been asked hinted I know they will put the metal fittings back up ! Anything I can do to cover myself ?

get him to sign that you have fitted classII lights/switches. then if they magically turn into metal, it's not down to you.

Take photographs of the pendants up, issue the customer with MWC that has the class 2 pendant work included, place label on DB warning of no CPC, Arse covered.

If you can get the customer to, get him to sign a document that states he knows of the dangers of metal fittings on these circuits.

No get payment first.
Done all you can as others have said make sure you have issued the correct paperwork clearly stating what you have found and any work you have done. You cant stop them putting whatever fittings they like once you have gone.
Dont worry about it.

So fill in on the observations section note it down and code it accordingly. It's upto the customer to read the report and act accordingly to it. If they do fit class 1 fittings and switches later then your report is enough to cover your arse.

Re: what should i do

I take it on your EICR you gave it as unsatisfactory in terms of electrical safety.

It is not your problem you are asked to inspect and test and submit your findings !
