Hybrid circuits

Morning all, been pondering quite a bit lately about Hybrid circuits,especially 13amp socket circuits, the likes of lolly pop rings etc.

I don't want to get into arguments about the pros and cons and why people install them, that's been done to death, whether, I personally agree with this method is neither here nor there, no, my question is, " how are these circuits tested, and how are the results entered on the installation certificate?" for example if you have installed a lolly pop ring how is that described? as a ring or a radial.

Yes, that's how lighting circuits usually get connected with twin cables

It's what I'd know as a RB4 lighting junction mate.

RB4 is the part number of the old square grey Ashley joint boxes. It is not restricted to use in lighting circuits however

Never seen them octopus wiring centres on any of the job's I have ever been on, and done an hell of rewires in me time, plenty of room like them, I used the 6 terminal Ashley jb's.

Again yes that is how lighting circuits are normally connected, black as the switched live from the switch and red as the live to the light

They could have put some red tape round them switch lines.

I am aware of the tendency to use red and black for switch drops, though to my mind there seems to be far too many Reds connected to blacks for all to be switch drops.

Not in the 1950s they wouldn't have, electricians didn't need paint by numbers wiring in those days

Four terminals on the left are all sw/live to light connections
Too right terminal is all reds (perm live)
Bottom right terminal is all blacks (neutral)

Yep 4 switched lighting points and more if needed, plenty more terminals in there.

It looks to me that there are 5 reds top right with 2 blacks.
Bottom right has 5 blacks and 2 reds.
Next to these is a single black top, and a single red bottom.
Are these singles just parked or is there continuity from top to bottom?
