Not been on the 18th edition course yet.

In short what are the design changes I will need to implement come jan 1st on a domestic re-wire?

Now I’m very much in danger of possible ridicule but sod it
This is the NICEIC guidance on the matter taken from their 18th edition suite guide
Yes they do not write the regulations etc etc but as a member of their scheme I very much support and agree with this advice

I was an attendee at the SELECT Glasgow branch meeting last week. We had a discussion about the changes that will come into effect on 1st January. One of the changes discussed was the requirement to provide support for wiring systems so to prevent premature collapse in the event of a fire. Several questions were asked and SELECT's Technical Services Adviser clearly stated that metallic support behind plasterboard ceilings is NOT required. That will do for me.

Be interested to hear what spin has to say, if this turns out to be wrong well fair enough. But I cant help thinking it's not going to be wrong.
Has nobody else done the 18th, was there no discussion of this?
I’ve done it yes but an online course and no mention that plasterboard is unacceptable
