There’s quite a lot of input from various persons so I don’t think it’s been given a overall final say by a senior person/editor on the coding in general
But they are selling it ......................

Only when run in prescribed routes (safe zones).Shouldnt rcds be required when cables are in a wall less than 50mm deep without any protection?
This is rubbish.
I just hope people don’t start quoting this book as gospel and use it as the be all and end all of eicr codingThis is rubbish.
There is no prohibition in BS7671 against running cables outside of prescribed zones or diagonally. They need to be protected by one of the listed methods.

I'm blissfully ignorant - do you have the ref please? Also, not sure how can that little piece of wire be considered to be locking the fuse away (?). And I still don't see how it can be a safety issue for the installation I'm reporting on (?). But happy to learn .It is a Statutory requirement for the Suppliers fuse to be locked away.

YesIs this rev2 based upon the 18th?
Thanks, Ian I thought it was.
I do not have this guide but I am sure that gives a reason and conclusion they have which can be used as a reference point. The main problem is people believing there can be a definitive answer for everything. Each situation has its own code for a reason, it ultimately comes down to the opinion of the guy/girl on site. This is why, I believe, EICRs should only be completed by experienced electricians
When I had to renew my CSCS card and had to do the H&S test it was at the NICEIC Nr Dunstable I was looking for the stained glass windows and I'm sure that reception desk could double up as the alter.Mmmm, not the Bible, check Koran, Book of Mormon, Bagvad Gita, etc for comparison.
