Looking to buy 2 more cable tracers, i currently have the fluke intellitone 200 and the CZ 1000 .
Need 2 more so i wanted to see what you using on the job with a better price than these two above.
Beside the tracing, one other important option is to have a live protection and a continuity tone when shorted.
I saw there many around starting from 10 to 400 pounds and was thinking to ask if you have any experience with low price traces, if there are any that can do the job before spend the money.

i use a phone tone gen. tracer. it ID'd 12 2.5mm T/E's in 20 minutes.
Same here...used it today where the dry liners had lost 2 smokes down a long corridor. Took me 5 minutes with a tone tester to trace them and a hole saw later I had them pulled out with no damage. Paid £15 for it off of amazon :D

this is mine, cost under£20.

@Marti
Thaks, i looked at this and seems that have no continuity.

I just bought a cz 1000 i found for not so bad price, 100pounds with the shipping.I will need one more tracer now.
Can you find out the name of the one you suggest?

Yes thats cool.I never use that kind of option. I guess it will be useful to get an idea on how far away is the point you looking for?
My main focus is to have continuity sound and to have voltage protection.
The sound i found it extremely helpful when working alone to confirm the pair or wire you looking for.

I disagree. IF you have a use for it, it's just the tool you use. And when you do have a use, it'll be one of those "wish I'd bought it years ago"...

Also good for cutting strands of cable armour, although I try to restrict their use to copper.

It's a permanently-connected resistive load, so testing L-N with an insulation tester wouldn't yield any useful information anyway.

Absolutely correct they hold water, shrouds are totally unnecessary. 20s is 24mm spanner, 20 large is 30mm spanner.
