Hi All

I know it’s been asked a million times, but does anyone have experience with the below tester,

MFT1701 Multifunction Tester MFT1741 3-Phase 600V​


Its time for a new one and this has peaked my interest, would be interested to hear if anyone has experience with this tester
 
Last calibrated January 21, might be up for selling at a good price, it’s in really good Nick even has the protective sticker on the screen stil, I’m a bit ocd with my tester

I had one of those Dilog units as a spare once, it was a decent unit for the price but mine had issues that were uneconomical to repair in the end.

Anyway, the Megger you ask about is a very good tester that is widely used. You will fall in love quickly with the two wire non-trip Zs!
I've also been very happy with recent Kewtech testers, I borrowed a KT63 for ages and it was rather a bus-mans holiday - simple and got the job done.
My spare is now a little Metrel 3125 and it's a superb little tester for the money. I've been using it far more than I thought I would. The Metrel range is worth a look as they do seem to keep coming up with innovative ideas e.g doing the R1+R2 maths for you on RFC's
Plenty of choice these days!
 
The KT63 is a good old unit . If I had the money and the will I would buy the Plus version . . Di-log i think is a company that needs a much better person in charge .They could really take a chunk of the market .
 
I recently bought the new kewtech KT66DL.
Cost me £950+VAT from Rexel.
Really like it. it builds on the KT63+
Has good 2 wire loop test.
Also able to test SPDs, - Not really had use for that function yet.
For myself the biggest feature is the ability to test the full range of RCDs found in EV charging installations as it forms the majority of my workload these days.
 
So bit the bullet and ordered a megger 1741+, will be my first megger, anything I should be looking out for or any handy tips on getting used to it?

just bought the 1721, not had much of a play with it yet. biggest difference over the 1553 is the EFLI testing. with the 1553 youconnected and it auto tested. with the 1721, you have to select 2 or 3 wire/hi or lo, using the selector switch, then press test.1741 will be same, i think.

It can be programmed to auto test
 
You won't be disappointed with your purchase, I've had mine for just over a year now and I can't fault it. I had a 1553 for over 10 years and it is still my back up tester and bullet proof, hopefully the 1741+ will be too! You have an option on the 41 to set it to auto test on the earth loop function, so it can be set to do it like the old 53 model.

Well done. Leads sound a bit high btw mine are 0.07 when warmed up. Rcd uplift - I either calculate Zs, or use the kitcher trick. See

Spanners for swa glands
Absolutely correct they hold water, shrouds are totally unnecessary. 20s is 24mm spanner, 20 large is 30mm spanner.
