Hi guys done an EICR other day 3phase 32 circuits

problem is out of the 32 circuits there was only around 10 neutral cables 3 of which was from t&e the rest in singles any ideas guys

Did you trace the neutrals then or ask for any circuit schedules already on site , as Sintra said really , don't forget you can get 3 separate fuses with only 1 neutral for a 3 phase supply ...

Im a little shocked (no pun intended) that this question has been asked by someone who's done the testing .... you should know up front about the different 1ph & 3ph arrangements in these boards and also you results, circuit ID, testing etc will have explained the set-up too... Im a little confused myself to why your doing a EICR and not understanding 3ph circuit layouts?

PS Question aside ...Welcome to the forum :)

A 400V board also supplies 230V. You only run a neutral if it’s needed, otherwise it’s just a waste of money.

You may not like this.
But if you have to ask, I really don’t think you are competent to work on a 3Ph system never mind test it.

thought it would be pretty obvious when you opened up the other end of the cct at the isolater, there either is or is not a neutral. My experience is about 80% no neutral,l 15% with neutral and in use and 5% neutral not in use. This is for finals, not sub-mains lol

is this our OP?

[ElectriciansForums.net] Lack of neutrals

Maybe the whole place needs rewiring because it's pretty obvious that circuits are using something else instead of their rightful neutrals. How could such an installation possibly function? Maybe we should get on to the Vatican and get them to send an investigatory devil dodger because this could be a miracle. Are there any marks on the walls of this place which in very poor light and if you were blootered could look like a bloke with a beard?

The forum looks down on bullying tactics and slating comments but to be honest on occasion the level of question relative to the qualification of the poster sometimes drops below the toleration level and even I as placid and laid back as I am feel the OP needs a reality check no matter how this is achieved - it needs to be expressed quite clearly his/her competence is not forthcoming in this area and they should cease their involvement in it.

So if this EICR was done what where the final results / findings , hello is there anybody there??

I'm more than competent on 3 phase and single phase , it's a 3 phase DB using all ways as single phase circuits , so the theory for 3 phase without neutral is N/A

i was myself thinking there is either borrowed neutrals everywhere or something else in the set up giving the required neutrals

This is absolutely ridiculous!!!
Op you clearly have no right to be carrying out Eicr's, it is painfully clear you are out of your depth, to ask such a basic question scares the
crap out of me.
For god sake put your tools away and go and get a job that requires less Brain cells.
Enough is enough, when will things like this stop.

trev. you can't possibly be a geordie and an atheist, as all geordies believe that they are god. ergo, you believe in god, so atheist, you ain't. truth be told, you need to have been born in liverpool to have aspersions as a deity.

For f***s sake, why would you need a neutral on a 3Ph circuit!

Go away before I loose my temper.

Forgive me Tel, what I should have said was I don't believe that there's any being anywhere that is superior to me.
:)
