    If socket working ok, nothing to do with you. Just check voltage at socket and walk away. It pays sometimes not to get involved or you will find yourself replacing the drivers etc and doing it for nothing.

    Crabtree elcb

    As defined by 14th edition of wiring regs it is a current operated earth leakage circuit breaker [now known as an rcd] as opposed to a voltage operated earth leakage circuit breaker which are no longer permitted since the 15th edition. It is rated at 500ma.
