    Have you tried plugging a light into a socket to see if the socket circuits are affected. Had a case recently where customer complained oh lights flickering when I was there standard lamp was also doing it. Notified WPD and it would seem the problem was on their network

    The big jobs aint always the best

    I totally agree also, I have 3 small builders that I do the occasional job for possibly 1 job a year between the three and the rest is maintenance etc. Not making a fortune but able to keep going and a lot less stressful.

    As stated above I would replace CU and upgrade bonding but put on the certificate that you did not do the work in the extension but that it was done by another [name him] and that he has not certified or notified the work.

    Mardhall Tufflex used to make dry lining boxes that would go down to about 2mm, however don't know if they still make them, last used them about20 years ago.

    Battery SDS Drill

    Saw a Metabo 36 volt at a show earlier this week with 5.2 Ah batteries quite impressive. Supposedly cheaper than Bosch equivalent but that was salesman's talk. Though I did feel that with the larger capacity batteries it was a bit heavy.
