Not sure why you thought it was sarcasm. It sounds to me that it’s very likely that the consumer unit has been installed incorrectly - either by incorrect connections or loose/missed connections.

I would argue that some limitations are acceptable on an EIC. For example, consumer unit change, lighting circuits with downlighters etc, then L-L IR test is always going to be a LIM in reality.
You can change it to floor temp mode in the settings. So it shows floor temp on the display instead of room temp. It’s all in the manual. Takes 2 mins to do.
I’ve fitted loads of these and never had one fail.
Either way, I’d be running a ring for general use sockets and small loads like extractor/gas hob ignition etc and 16A 2.5mm2 radials to appliances (unless over 16A of course)
