    My rate was £4 2s 8d for a 40 hr week but providing not late on any day during the week we got an extra 10s it went up each birthday until I reached age 21 then was on a whole £12 8s 6d although they then called it £12 42 1/2p

    In my experience the most common cause for failure of such units is the positioning of the pir detection being in direct sunlight. Like with everything else these days, you usually get what you pay for so don't expect a unit for £10 to be as good as one for £80
