    Unvented system wiring help

Sounds like you need to get someone in who knows what they are doing. Why is there a two port valve on the system if it's not connected via a boiler?

Fitting Hive 2 to a oil boiler in Spain

Don't put that back plate on where the thermostat is though. That just wants to go next to the boiler. connected like Lee said. The thermostat just runs off batteries and recieves a wireless signal. Can be fixed anywhere on the house (within reason)

8.5kw shower wires in 4mm, burnt terminals

That is a narrow stud Thankfully always 4x2 with the joiners we work with. Would not like to terminate a 10mm in anything less than a double 47mm box. To be honest don't like wirring showers fullstop :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

8.5kw shower wires in 4mm, burnt terminals

Good luck. Is that due to cable running through alot of insulation? Never seen a 16mm at a shower before. At least you can install a double 47mm metal box in the stud partition

8.5kw shower wires in 4mm, burnt terminals

Hi wilko. Yes that was indeed the problem. Only been in for 8 months, so someone with plastic wrists must of installed it. I just think it's good practice to always install a 10mm cable for a new shower install.

Fitting Hive 2 to a oil boiler in Spain

Might of been better to get a nest. The back plate you have shown does not go where the thermostat is. You can put that next to the boiler. The thermostat connects through your broadband connection

8.5kw shower wires in 4mm, burnt terminals

You're quite right. I always tighten connections. Leave them a minute to settle then u can normally get another quatre turn on them. The reason we always wire a new shower supply in 10mm, is so the customer has some flexibility when coming to choose a shower. And like ive seen before, when the...

8.5kw shower wires in 4mm, burnt terminals

I had a similar situation yesterday. Reports of shower isolator getting hot. Go to check it out. 6mm installed last year supplying a 9.5kw shower. Burnt out connections. I would always install a 10mm if wirring for a new shower.

If it was PME. Both stranded cores would go into the neutral terminal, with the main earth being tapped off from there

I would agree with that. My father is a cable jointer for enw and have showed him the picture. This was his reply It looks like 16 or 26 mm single phase split cable or scne which is separately combined neutral & earth

Texecom Veritas 8 Stand alone keypad button replacement

Looks like there are two clips holding the front housing. Unclip the front housing and that will reveal the screws attaching it to the panal. Make sure u power down the panel before attempting. I should note I am not an alarm engineer, and am just going off what I can see in the photo
