When we had a new kitchen I installed a new range cooker. As soon as we switched it on it tripped the rcd. Turned out to be a cable inside the top of the hob, (which lifted up) had been trapped when manufactureres put it together.
There is another zone which is for UFH. This is yet to be finished so didn't mention it.
Thanks for all the info, it's all helping me to get my head round it.
Hi I don't usually get involved with central heating wiring systems, but I had a new boiler fitted last week and I thought it would be a good idea to get to know how they work.
Could someone just check that i have got this right please.
The boiler is an Alpha Intech 34C combi, the wireless...
No, there is nothing on the roof. I checked when I was trying to find the cables for half a dozen flood lights that don't work, no power to them. They too just disappear into the cladding and no access whatsoever.
There are no companies that make signs like that locally. There's sod all in...
The signs are high on the side of a metal building (car dealers). There is no access to the inside where the cables comes in. The only isolation is at the board.
There are three of these led modules in this one letter/sign. Two are not working but one is so I know there is power to the sign...
Hi all.
The attached photos show an LED lighting module that is in some signage. Has anyone seen these before, or know where I am able to get hold of some They are showing they are 8v.
Thanks for any help.

I wondered if something on the circuit board might have been causing it?
I told her to get someone to fit, but she said that she wants me to do it. So she is going to have to wait though, too busy at the moment.
The hood is disconnected and she knows not to use it. She is also happy to have a new hood fitted, I just couldn't work out why the mA's would increase especially when it is not even switched on.
No. This was a job I wasn't expecting this morning. I was at another when a neighbour asked me to have a look. after finding this I just told her she needed a new hood.
Hi all.
When to a job this moring RCD had tripped, narrowed it down to the kitchen sockets, but found that the RCD stayed on for about 20-30 seconds before tipping out. Unplugged everything, so I thought.
Tested the RCD 1x 37ms - 36ms. 5x 11ms - 13ms. Ramp test 19.6 mA.
Then I realised the...
