    cooker keeps tripping rcbo as soon as you switch it on

    When we had a new kitchen I installed a new range cooker. As soon as we switched it on it tripped the rcd. Turned out to be a cable inside the top of the hob, (which lifted up) had been trapped when manufactureres put it together.

    I don't know what the supply is, as there isn't anywhere to test. The cable goes straight into the building and then disappears.

    I wondered if something on the circuit board might have been causing it? I told her to get someone to fit, but she said that she wants me to do it. So she is going to have to wait though, too busy at the moment.
