The company I work for periodically gets its EICR'S audited, one thing they pulled us for was plastic blanks in pre Amd3 boards 'easily removed without the use of a tool and readily accessible'
They put this down as a 'code 2'
Can't really fathom this, what about pendants? Which have been...
I'm 28 and voted to leave unlike most people my age. I kept my vote pretty quiet as most liberal lefties are quick to make judgement and either label me or others who voted to leave either stupid or racist
I dont like the current form of capitalism ; its skewed, keynesian economics served it's...
I get where your coming from, but when you get that feeling from a customer ( the type that changes their mind alot) sometimes I'll take a 3-core to a light switch 'just incase' they want an extra light or a smart switch. Same principle, just thinking ahead.
Just finished a similar 1st fix myself but slightly different system,
Combi system and 6 zone UFH.
boiler and manifold in different rooms, took a 3 core to each stat wired back to the manifold, took a twin and a 3core from the boiler to the manifold, twin for the manifold feed and 3 core for a...
I'm going to measure ze tomorrow would anyone be willing to help me with my calculations?
Originally Sp energy where going to supply to the house, somewhere along the way but after I had started the rewire of the property the owner decided to supply his own cable and feed it off the meter 160...
Could anyone give r1r2 values per metre for 3core 35mm SWA also incorporating the armour as a protective conductor?
The figures I've obtained are 0.00282 but I'm unsure if this incorpartes the armour.
It's to supply a bungalow but the meter and cut out is 160 metres from the house itself...

Just a quick one regarding economy 7,
Where the meter provides two outputs, during off peak hours, what happens to the (main board) as in the general daytime DB, does this also switch over or does it...
Sorry let me be more specific, I've been the victim of getting switch wires mixed up on the penultimate light of a lighting circuit, with the switch open i was still getting a voltage through the "neutral" of the last load causing the light to pulse. It might go unnoticed if there hasn't been a...
I Don't think it's possible to do it on the cheap, As others have said I would definitely go modular, interchangeable and easier to replace when one goes faulty.
Make sure you fit a 35mm back box.
Thanks for the reply sparkychick, I'll definitely have a look into both those suggestions, i would probably prefer a wired system altough might consider some sort of hybrid, I'll post back in a few weeks and let you know my decision.
First fixed for a security alarm about a year ago in my house and it's nearly time for second fix, I've only ever installed veritas r8's before, what do other people use? Are veritas a good brand as I have nothing to compare them to.
