    Yeah, a lot of these flats would have originally had meter rooms but most have had meters moved into the flats due to unwanted visitors and vandalism in the meter rooms, on a side note, some street lighting around our area is run in Pyro!

    I have moved an entire meter box before with cut-out and meter in, just moved it down and right and across a bit. if you feel like taking the risk, that's your call I certainly didn't't come on here looking for 'backup' because I knew what the answer would be ;-)

    2.5 I'll have you know! lol the best thing I noticed about the proper jobbies is that they lay flat on the floor rather then singles which are a right trip hazard, drum of singles has done me well enough tho!

    Help me decide what to get

    I have had a Bosch 10.8 since they first came out, had a few years of all-day use and batteries still OK. Would highly rate it. Even came with a free bosch t-shirt with vinny jones on lol.

    Not at all mate, I didn't realise you were still running business full time, IMO unless you know some people in the right places or just strike it lucky then I would say jumping feet first into rig work would be a non-starter, 5 years ago maybe a lot better chances but at the moment works tight...

    Have a look on here National Joint Council for the Engineering Construction Industry (NJC). And look up current major projects or repair and maintenance projects, you will need a 'safety passport' which lasts 3 years for most of these jobs.

    I remember being told that glenn, and how many clamps have you seen just wrapped around layers of paint? I tested a gaff the other day and ended up destroying some boxing as I couldn't find decent continuity turned out to be just clamped straight onto gloss, no effort made to remove any paint!

    if it were extraneous it would require main bonding of the appropriate size. I could see this being the case if it was attached to a metal pole in the ground. however the wire itself and any brackets wouldn't meet the definition of an extraneous conductive part or an exposed conductive part...

    All you need to do is identify the switch wire, I would do this by belling out each cable between the red and the black, with the switch in either position, one should be a dead short with the switch in on position, obviously you will have to do it with the power off!

    Catenary wire

    I don't think there is a requirement to bond it, same as a piece of steel conduit used to carry t+e, however I would probably and usually bond it.
