Hi AndyI was in exactly your position a while ago. The college I went to persuaded me to do the ONC prior to the HNC. On completion I can safely say that there was no way of my doing the HNC straight off without the ONC. My previous quals were the standard 236 pt 1&2 and the old "C" cert (is it...
I have used ledlite down lighters, they only seem available from TLC. Used them on a 3 separate jobs and all customers were happy! IP66 and fire rated. Maybe a little expensive, especially if you want anything other than white, you have to pay extra for bezels.
Are you trying to fix a surface box to the laths with leaving the plaster in place?
If so use the thinnest screw as possible, this lessens the chances of the lath splitting!
Can beat that one Phil. My old landlord brought a house he was told had been rewired. I was trying to find a fault on the kitch ring (This had been recently done), lifted a board above the CU and there was all sorts of wiring methods connected to new T and E that went to the CU, old single...
Have seen this before, in 80s build. The middle sheet is really thick. Dont think that there was any vertical timber. There had been cables installed during erection, but as you said impossible to fish cables.
Do you mean can you extend the circuit form the existing switch? If so then you can use the loop method or go to the new switch with the perm live and neutral and then to your new light.
I may have not understood your question, Im a bit confused about the junction box.
HandySparks.
Really neat job, well done !!!!!
Just a quick question, it looks like you used a stripping tool (I may be wrong) for the outer insulation of the T&E (there appear to be clamp marks on the outer sheath).
If so, what make are they and can you recommend them?
What maybe useful for you is an HNC in electronic/electrical engineering, not specifically for PLCs I know (although there was a module in this when i done it) but it definitely helps if you want to go down the commissioning route. I started off as a sparky but was working in an industrial...
Assuming this is:
a) a serious question
b) secondary winding of transformer is 12v
c) Ive understood your question
Option A
Remove from supply and abort project.
Option B
Research ohms law, research methods for cable selection and proceed with extreme caution!!!!!
Hi Toby, my mate has exactly the same, Two cut outs, but only one utilised, His is a three bed.
Marvo, i think the split phase system was 440v between the two phases, I believe it was used for remote locations like farms, the DNO could save on cable cost because only two phase + neutral were...
