I would contact Amteck to find out. If you’ve paid for it, they should provide some sort of helpline or assistance I would have thought. Not a good service if not.
I would say that this means that it is acceptable to run smoke detectors on the same circuit as the lighting. But not two circuits, one for smokes and one for lighting, (2 cables) lumped together in one OCPD.
There should also be a means of isolating the smokes from the lighting, ie a switch...
If you are now an NICEIC registered contractor why don’t you just use the NICEIC online certification. It’s so easy, keeps records, registers building control, etc etc.
As have I but even from that reg, leaving spare ways in a CU is not a specific requirement.
OP has installed a massive 23 circuits CU and had 2 spare. But he decided wanted one more. It wasn’t necessary and if he’d had left it at two spares this thread wouldn’t even exist.
All because of...
Yep. I can’t go through it all again. It’s not well written but I believe the intention of the reg is as I have tried to explain.
Your argument gains ground if you take the reg literally but it is not what the schemes mentioned believe it to mean. Neither do I.

It contravenes 314.4!!!!!!!!!
As both Stroma and NICEIC said!
But here we go again. Round and around!
We are not going to get to the bottom of this until someone in the Regs committee clarifies the reg.

We have done work for a council roadway/ roadside maintenance contractor and they have a yard. Within the last 10 years we have noticed more and more mobile homes’ or caravans rocking up on site and more 2.5mm cables feeding them...
And if the pipes are not bonded, appliances and everything metal that’s connected to a CPC becomes live. That’s not an improvement. But as you say, you’d need to trust your equipotential zone.
But the old cables were lead sheath? They didn’t have a separate earth conductor. The lead would have added a cost though I suppose.
Is that the only reason? Just cost?
And what the danger of a lost N, why did they think this was safe?
Does anyone know the history or reasoning behind PME and TN-C-S earthing? It came up today and I thought it was worth knowing.
Why was it brought in and when?
There is a ‘five week wonder’ course that. As far as I understand, is aregs course only. ‘This enables the partaker to become Part P registered. Yes, go figure!?
These FWW’s come out thinking they are qualified electricians.
The ‘real’ course will be three years or so plus other courses such...
