Hi guys,
Could you clarify some thing for me?
If I've got an 1100w 230v motor running a pump, but don't know the power factor as its not listed on the rating plate, how can I work out overload rating?
Hi guys.
Can anyone explain in simple-ish terms how a three phase rcd measures a currents imbalance? It can't be between phases as not all three phase systems are balanced equally so it must be between phase and neutral big how?
Just curious!
I know that there are some schemes that allow third party certification. I do not agree with it at all as firstly why would I want to sign my name to a job which I didn't do? Also if you are carrying out third party certification you would need to visit the job a crucial stages just as the LBC...
You are correct to a point. A lone individual cannot change the world but a group may well be able to.
The view that I will go with the other because that's what the others are doing is similar to the lemming jumping of a cliff.
It will take more than one to break the ball and chain.
Yes another bug bear of mine:
It was the electric safe register and the electrical safety register then the competent persons register.
The charity that the NIC profits fund was the Electrical Safety Register but is now called Electrical Safety First!
How many of you know that? More to the...
No I can't but you are missing my point.
It's because the others aren't advertising properly. At the risk of repeating myself, the NICEIC has had 60 odd years head start.
The attitude you have will not help any of us as the NIC will only get worse. A monopoly is not a good thing.
It's all about advertising and let's face it, the NICEIC has had somewhere in the region of 60 years worth.
As I have said before, the architects, local authorities etc etc are either ignorant or misinformed and the smaller schemes need to get their names about more and inform these...
Job specifiers probably.? The other schemes need to get their act together and push their own Part P schemes. Let's face it, the NICEIC are not brilliant at advertising themselves, they've only had sixty odd years and they never got as powerful as Corgi did. The number of clients I deal with...
Yes. And to repeat, the RCD won't increase earth loop through the CPC. Im thinking there is a possibility of it through phase resistance as the phase conductor is connected to the RCD, the earth isn't!
Never come across that, especially with Hager. In any case I'm not sure it would ever be acceptable or even possible for any RCD/RCBO to increase earth loop. How it would even do that as RCD's monitor an the balance between phase and neutral and don't monitor the connection to earth. Yes...
I take all the above on board although some of it is slightly off topic. My point is that I don't have a problem with a full days visit (if it is really warranted), any inspector assessing my work, or any inspector choosing which work see. What I do have a problem with is £388 for what...
