Welcome aboard, it’s refreshing to have someone who’s made an effort to get qualifications and work before coming on and saying “make me an electrician”....keep up the good work ethic and you’ll do well.
Is there a 3 phase fuse board as these are quite common on farms etc if so it is possible that even though your friend isn’t using 3 phase equipment the circuits that are being used are spread across the 3 phases.
Your bang on Murdoch there is a huge spectrum of people in Maidstone as in most areas, I find the ones who haven’t got much are the most grateful though.
I ordered mine from here Wiring Regulations & Guidance Notes for Electricians - Wiring Regs - https://www.wiringregulations.net/ BBB, GN3 and OSG £140 including delivery charge. I tried to see if my go-to wholesaler could do better but the best they could do was £165.
The price is aggravating...
What gets me is when they change the number of a reg but don’t actually change the reg itself can’t think of one off hand but I think there’s about 3or4 from the 17th to 18th il have a look tomorrow when I’m less sleepy
Your situation as I understand it is to make 2nd fixing easier by way of reducing cable size, there are other options available like firstly using a deeper back box and to take your time dressing the cables tidy in the box which will make connecting and screwing back so much easier it will take...
Instead of looking at the cable size have you thought of any other alternatives to parts of the installation that may make your life easier when doing grid switch’s for appliances?
I have to disagree tel last night I had a kebab and a few bottles of hobgoblin all left on my magic coffee table and this morning everything had been cleared away :D
£299.95 is the cheapest one on eBay

Bugger, the apprentice and I cleared the van out last night.......... he’ll probably tell me to F myself if I’d ask him to put it back how it was just for a picture!
At the end of the day it’s business everyone is going to do what’s in the best interest for their own business to advertise themselves in the best way they see fit whether that’s signs on a van, company clothing, leaflets, website etc.
