Young bloke round my way is starting up window cleaning Monday, he looks rough as chuff but he's OK I always pass the time of day when I see him, he gave me a lift out the Van with an old heater once. Anyway he collared me and said did I want a window cleaner, and having never had one before...
Thanks Gavin, might put it on the back burner didn't realise they were that much. I wouldn't possibly dream of doing anything underhand like that, dear me no......
Good morning fellow electricians. Now, as I am sure you have all been enjoying, I have not been on here much lately, as I am jacking in very shortly, or at least not renewing my scam membership. So, with only 20 days left, it has just occurred to me it might be a good idea to install myself a...
You don't need a new CU and you probably don't need anything other than new appliances. It will more as likely be a faulty original oven, it's a simple job for a spark to check the circuit in question. There is no problem having the oven and hob on the same RCD or even the same cable as long as...
I didn't say chuck it across the flowerbed, I was suggesting to lay it along the bottom of the fence and anchor it on each post so it is sitting on the surface, simple, job done.
What a load of rollocks. There are thousands of CU's with a single RCD protecting multiple circuits. Would you want to rip the customer off by changing the CU every time something simple like an oven or hob needed connecting up? What do you mean surge protection where did that come from??
Exactly. Why make a drama out of it. I have done it like that loads of times, it's armoured cable, the clue is in the name. The original sparky obviously thought the same.
I am a bit uneasy with this: "
Electrician suffered shock when electrical supply had not been properly isolated
Inadequate isolation
An electrician received a severe electric shock whilst carrying out building refurbishment and fitting out work in a new estates office. The electrical supply had...
Yes but I think he was trying to say that the small spark he WAS creating might be enough to start a fire. Might.......obviously the more juice you have the more likely you are going to get a decent spark, but these days you often are not going to be using much, especially on lighting circuits...
Ha! That's a brilliant video - there's nothing in that bloody great big thing apart from a green LED. How big a CU are we supposed to need to get a few of them in? Half the places you find them installed in won't have enough room. Nice one IET, when are the £1K testers coming on sale, mind you...
