    Alarm system recommendations??

I normally fit Scantronic 9651 panels if you're after a bells only 8 zone wired panel - cheap and bulletproof!

Texecom alarm panel tamper light on and sounding off randomly

As above can be the SAB thats causing issues, check for continuity between negative (0v) and Tamper Return (TR) on the bell circuit in the panel - if no continuity then place a link in there to bypass the fault or take a look at the bell box itself to adjust tamper spring. If its a Premier...

going to try a 'pro' alarm install

Another vote for Texecom Premier Elite panels, as Lee has already mentioned the Ricochet (wireless equipment) is brilliant if any additions/alterations are required at a later date.

New tool bag time, any recommendations?

Another vote for Veto Pro Pac, had several CK bags before and bit the bullet - won't look elsewhere for tool bags now!

    Inrush currents and solutions......

Just a little update, lights all up and running on a C10 MCB's (highest Zs being 1.1 Ohms) with no issues when turning multiple switches on at the same time. Also had a response from Enlite for those interested - "The inrush on the EN-DE8 is 0.6A PK measured in 100ms. We have tested 2-10...

    Inrush currents and solutions......

Not that I'm aware of! It's not a massive house so the cable runs aren't too long, will look like Terminal 5 when up and running though!

    Inrush currents and solutions......

As in #6 post I've taken over the job from a friend (family bereavement) and client wants some lighting on by end of next week, first time on site yesterday having a nose around and just preparing for worst case scenarios. Kitchen lighting has around 25 fittings, couple of switches operating...

    Inrush currents and solutions......

Haven't fitted anything yet, Consumer unit to be installed early part of next week and hopefully have the lights up and running towards the end of the week. Initial thoughts is certainly a C6 or C10, will have to see what the Zs is first. Just looking into possible solutions should the C type...

    Inrush currents and solutions......

Yeah waiting to hear back from Enlite and have asked those exact questions. Taken this job over from a mate (cheers!) and the client is fully aware there could be some alteration work to be done, wondering if people have installed one of these limiters or alike - Inrush Limiter for LED...

    Inrush currents and solutions......

Good evening! Wanting to pick the brains of people more experienced in this field, approaching 2nd fix stage of an ongoing rewire where the client wants a shed load of lights throughout. What particularly worries me is the hallway and kitchen grid switches where there’s around 10-12 lights...

Which domestic Consumer Unit and why?

Hager if money isn't an issue, but I use Contactum RCBO boards and would recommend for people to try one out!

    Contactum RCBO and board

Contactum full RCBO boards is all I fit now as I also get a good price from my wholesaler. DB itself is very well made, has plenty of room inside for the RCBO's and to dress the cables properly, RCBO's/MCB's align correctly on din rail and don't appear twisted when the cover is on like some...

All my gear is Bosch from dust extractor through to 36v SDS - never had any issues with anything and would recommend. Needless to say everything is registered online with them should anything happen (fingers crossed!).

Outdoor lighting sensors - any idea what make/model these are?

Forgot to add there's no branding/markings on the sensors apart from the symbols above the terminal blocks.

Outdoor lighting sensors - any idea what make/model these are?

Good evening! Had a bit of a flying visit to property earlier to look at something completely different, but was asked to have a quick nose at the outdoor lighting sensors. There's multiple halogen floodlights controlled by these multiple sensors throughout the property, 2 x sensors in...
