    Van stock?.............

Well if I'm at a job on my own which I will be now, it'll most likely be house bashing and keeping extra stock in the case of "oh while youre here..." For bigger jobs it'll be me and my boss with the material ordered for it.

    Van stock?.............

Hi all, My boss has bought me a little panel van(of course it's bright yellow, What else?) Just wondering what you keep in the van as stock? I'm thinking a pack of BC ES lamps, pendants, spurs, couple boxes of sockets, 109.024yards of 1.5, 2.5 And 3core. Various CBs(bet he'll be glad to get rid...

First job - light hearted reminder of the past.

Not my first ever day but i remember meeting Paul M at a train station trying not to jump in the wrong van to some random person :D Waiting there armed with a gym bag full of any tools I could find in the house, mis matched and no where near vde. We went to the wholesalers and bought me a set...

Advice to apprentice just starting out?

Beware if someone comes up on site holding tape or cling film. We may or may not have cacooned the apprentice that's leaving as a farewell gift :D

    Full rcbo boards????

And I was just beginning to like you but you're on weak and wobbly May's side(I joke. I'm not against democracy :D ) Board duty's amazing. Testing not so much. Mainly because i don't do much of it so I'm not sure lol

    Full rcbo boards????

Oh don't worry. I'd find something to moan about. Like the Tories being ahead at the moment. And I'm on board duties(which I love)

Advice to apprentice just starting out?

Also don't get complacent with electricity. Might work with in day in day out. Double check it's dead and treat everything as if it's live. I've replaced an outside light whilst it was live without knowing or figuring out due to miscommunication and trusting someone else for my own safety.

Advice to apprentice just starting out?

Milk first (barring tea of course!) Get your phone away. On both my trial days I ignored it to the point of "you know you can answer your phone you know" Be alert. Even if it's just a little job of all you're doing is passing screws. Think of what they need next and be ready with it. Put the...

    Full rcbo boards????

Annnnnywhoo... Rather than arguing about the big holy book of regulations. I attempted another rcbo board(21 way :( ) with a different technique; connecting the rcbos then my circuits. Got some little cable ties ready to tackle this monster. Still no luck. After the 5th rcbo things got unruly...

    Looking for another wholesaler

Agreed. I have my local wholesalers by my house. Go in have a laugh, get advice for the best product of what they have in/can get in and give me the best prices. Got a bunch of 25mm 3core SWA; Customer tried sourcing it themselves "that's cheaper than we buy it in for!" Then my second...

    What are you doing/done today

It was making a weird noise at the back whilst driving. Like something was flapping or caught in the wheel(turned out to be my (non existent) pads for my drum). Day after it catastrophically failed; wheel off gave it a spin, metal scraping... shoes completely fell apart. I thought the drum was...

    What are you doing/done today

Spent most of yesterday in the sun sorting my rear brakes. Drum decided to go on my far side. Luckily on a side street because it was an instant stop but one of the busiest junctions in keighley on a Friday evening :D "Need any help" "Got a pair of shoes for a 57 plate fiesta? :D" 11-5ish...
