You fuse board looks like it was constructed by the installer, Fair play that is old! From those 3 pictures alone, I'd put money on it that house needs a rewire! Sorry for sounding so negative on your new purchase. :)
Emmmmmm, lets not have another mate on our hands here. The qualifications you need to be a fully qualified are:
C&G 2330 Level 3
C&G 2382
C&G 2356 NVQ Level 3
AM2
You will be then a time served Spark, the only way to do it in my eyes
I completed my NVQ with no help what so ever, my assessor came out twice throughout my whole level 3, ITS EASY!! Just requires dedication!
Evo55555, you need to grow up you child. With just two posts within the forum: one of them asking for answers of 7 questions and the other throwing...
You will need the AM2 for certain and the JIB no longer accept CSCS as a safety qualification, You'll need something better. Take a look at their website, its all there
Fp200 is on its own circuit into the DB, 'P clipped along cable tray using M6 nuts and bolts after coming out of the dado trunking.
The entry for cables into the DB from the dado trunking ARE THERE! (look harder) If there not, tell your assessor. Your rig is incorrect! There should be a...
Now I know this course has nothing to do with electrical, but I've hit all the qualifications to get an 'Approved Electrician' status JIB card so the only thing left before I can apply was a health and safety course and yes it was the CCNSG Passport to safety course I decided on!
My problem is...
I a sad state as this story is all over the trade at the moment. not even the young lads are getting apprenticeships and they are willing to work for less than a £100 pound a week so it is hard.
The one bit of advice I can offer is please don't get sucked into the 8 week courses that can get...
It consists of a total 40 questions and you shouldn't require any revision what so ever, its the easiest part! To be fair you can really revise or study for the AM2 its literally down to your efficiency and experience with different wiring techniques. Good luck and I recommend taking the pre AM2...
hahaha, I'm forever using my set square, cutting noggings for back boxes (at least I don't use plasterboard back boxes! :cool3:) Trunking, tray, strut etc! But since I moved to this factory role a month ago I can believe the lack of tools the lads have there. I could count them all just using my...
Floorboard saw, various chisels (wood and masonry) , small brushes for cleaning out channels, various pry-bars, set square, a hammer??? I know it sounds daft but I moved to a factory electrician role a month ago and the blokes there don't even own a hammer! a 3.5mm socket rethread-er - very useful!
The fact that your taking on consumer unit upgrades and haven't a clue about the certifying procedure is a farce! Are you an electrician!?!?! What the hell is going on within this trade?
The spark that did that rewire should consider a new profession to be honest, if that the job he did on the board.... God know what the rest of the place looks like, its embrassing
Yeah 17th first and then carry on in the order I stated, Or read up on the courses and find which one will suit your job needs the best, but definitely 17th edition first!
First of all finish off your NVQ, that's the business end of being an electrician completed. I would then progress to the:
2382 17th edition
2391 Inspection and testing
2372 PV
in that order and Boom..... You'll be a highly qualified chappy then.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE report this guy!!! He must have left his information with the customer, I think all British Gas installer have too! He needs to be sacked and sent back onto the bins where he belongs!
