If you hear the customer had an electrician from Facebook you instantly cry a little inside. Very poor job, I've seen worse like but that is impressive how many regs he's managed to break in 1 job.
I've used BG in the past, but not out of choice. Give me a schneider easy9 for domestic any day...
Personally the isolators are functional, not a safety thing (correct me if I'm wrong). They are there to isolate for maintainence/extended periods of no use. I wouldn't put them behind a drawer, but I wouldn't mind if a customer wanted them hidden to an extent. If you need the isolator to switch...
The rods come in various set with the attachments, you just have to pick one that suits you. The mega set is the one to go for in my opinion.
As for fitting other brands, I really can't say. I'd guess no for the major brands, but there's bound to be a Chinese knock off. Knock offs may snap...
The harder you pull the tighter they grip. I've never lost a cable from the end of one unless I wanted it to come out. Easier to get the cable off the rod than tape, you just push the gripper down and out it pops.
@Leesparkykent those Chinese finger traps are a bit of genius. I've used them for years and would never go back to taping cables to rods. They also double up as a tea bag fisher and coffee stirrer when you get desperate!
I'm not sure about these yoozyboxes. It makes it hard for the plasterer to skim the wall flat, as he has to skim around the box. Granted a good plasterer would be annoyed but could still do a good job, and granted all they do is stick brown ---- to walls, cut our cables, ruin our marks... you...
I use a megger 1720 too. Don't go for the 1730(I think it's this one), the bluetooth is a waste of time, apparently it's unreliable and buggy as hell.
Great mft, does the whole lot. I can't say much about the flukes, I've used one in the past when I was subbing, but years ago.
@D00DY_T00DY Gooooorn, plumb bob. .. good woody kind of words. Not those dreadfully tinny words like electricity.
Hopefully someone else gets the reference or ill sound like a right kn*b
Under the floor isn't great. Wago boxes are mf if you used a tie wrap through the loops to seal the box, but you'd have a lot of them for an entire board. I'd try find a way to convince the customer to put an adaptable box with a din rail in it where the cu used to be and use wagos for the...
