Best Sockets for value and longevity?

I use Click “Mode” & their IP rated accessories almost exclusively. I like the design & finish. I gave up on Crabtree as the quality took a nosedive some years ago IMO. MK is good but too pricey in comparison to Click without there being enough of a difference to justify it, and you can buy it...

    Fault on socket circuit

Well this is bay far the longest thread I’ve observed here. Ran out of popcorn some time ago too. OP, did you get to the bottom of it?

    Populated RCBO board

Was there not mention on here not that long ago of a recall on said BG compact RCBO devices?

    Populated RCBO board

The Denmans loaded RCBO board is similar to the Lewden, but not identical. Looks good though. I’ve been using Lewden loaded RCBO boards for a while now. I’d prefer to use Hager, or Crabtree Starbreaker (but the price is prohibitive IMO) as both now do the reduced height RCBO mentioned herein.

Anyone used Solarus combined PV & Solar Thermal panel

Interesting stuff. A client asked me about this tech years ago and I couldnt find anything useful at the time. I’ll look into it myself now.

I’ve seen concrete gutters before, but concrete soffits are a new one on me.

Customer Question: Two gang switch for light & fan?

FWIW, at this late stage in the thread, in bath or shower rooms with no opening window (or natural light) I have taken to installing two lights, one “main” one that switches worth the fan that then has an over-run timer for the obligatory quarter hour and another secondary light. This might take...

Where can I buy these in the UK?

I’m with Marvo there - I serviced a water feature some years ago and all the luminaries were 12v IP67 (not submerged but very wet) and were run from remote, hefty toroidal transformers away from the wet stuff. Good thing too as it was all stainless steel.

RCBO trip when cabinet lights switch on

Yes to the above; also check the links between the lights - are they under one cabinet or is there a link between cabinets?

Quote to fit 4 new sockets

Glad to hear it. I can see how and why, but I haven’t the stones to do it. I like being live myself

I'd rather install Ikea light fittings

Not that this is any help whatsoever, but I’m rather fond of this fitting for domestic purposes. It’s a piece of the proverbial to install too. 2 day CU upgrade,a bit of a pain.

I used a Niglon RCBO board once about 10 years ago. The devices weren’t bad but the insulated enclosure was dreadful. Never used one again. I’ve been using Lewden pre-loaded RCBO boards for a year or two now. Easily the most keenly priced units I‘ve come across. The devices are great; the metal...

    Issue with dimmer switch

What they all said. Without wishing to be rude or unkind, what seemed really straightforward has gone beyond you. Call a local electrician. And please, please get rid of that neon screwdriver, at least for assessing live cables & safety.
