    I always stitch drill to desired depth , chop the remaining out then plug and screw . Very rarely blow out using this method.

    This is excellent advice . My old man drilled through the supply cable in our old house which was in the wall cavity . Northern powergrid tried to charge him and were told the cable shouldn't be in the wall cavity . They didn't pursue the invoice .

    Im yet to see a new build with skim . All seem to get tape and filled . Plus its nice to be able to remove the dry liner after plastering .

    I know that but the OP seems to think if he disconnects the neutrals on a healthy circuit the rcd will trip .
