    installing downlights- wired in conduit

How much access is there and how much working space is there? I'd be tempted to put ceiling roses on if they are wired in 20mm tube via through boxes and such like, although it may not be possible due to space restrictions and whether or not you can fit ceiling roses on.

Alterations to lighting on Busbar trunking

I did a similar job a few years ago, every single light fitting had a MWC, not ideal paperwork wise but it's better to go over the top and prove you have tested your work, belt and braces etc etc.

    Working Out Spotlight Spacings

Had a bit of a discussion today, so thought I'd ask on here. When working out spacings for spotlights what setup does everyone use? I know different lights have different outputs and require different spacings, I was just wondering what people use as a rule of thumb. Cheers, Jim

    Garden Lighting

I'm at the point of deciding what garden lighting I have before the paving and astroturf gets laid, I like the idea of bollards, but don't fancy my kids pulling them over onto themselves when they start toddling! Does anyone have any ideas or will I have to go for the standard inset spotlights?

    Paving Lighting

Evening all, could anyone suggest any lighting for paving please, I'd ideally like a GU10 LED lamp, but not against changing my mind. The countersunk ones I've seen seem much of a sameness to me, ideally could know if someone has installed them and if they had any issues with them after...

It happened to me a few years ago so I sympathise with you. There will always be work out there for the lads who are willi to graft too, so don't worry too much. Some companies can try and use this tactic to get rid of a bit of the chaff from the wheat I guess, you will know in yourself which...

eStat 761 Underfloor Heating controller fault

There is usually a handbook for the underfloor heating where some values are entered for different stages of the installation, if you can get your hands on that it will put your mind at ease that it's just the controller. Fingers crossed for your customer that it is!!

Has Electrician made a mistake with height?

It's amazing how many times this situation arises and it always baffles me as to why it never gets picked up after the first fix has finished, which would be the ideal time to check everything before it becomes an absolute ball ache to change or move!!
