    GLENNSPARK im just offering up a reason why the electrician may have wanted to do it a different way, im not saying he is right or wrong. if the customer has a problem with what he wants to do then he should speak to him personally instead of assuming hes trying to pull a fast one.

    yes you've missed something, if the board had an rcd then why would the op have suggested the use of an rcbo. and the rcd fcu doesn't have to be on show.

    if he connects it to the ring main he's got to test the ring main then he's got to put right any faults on the ring, he would also have to source a 32a rcbo that would fit your board which is easier said than done. if he runs a new circuit then he can just use a rcd fcu and he knows the circuit...

    just sounds like an average TN-S, the clamp is just covered with tape. its the responsibility of the DNO and illegal for you to start messing around with it. just ring them up and get it updated.

    I did mine on the 4th of dec and got my cert at the end of feb. I had to chase it up though, it was sat on a desk at the test centre.

    2395 online exam

    its just a random selection of questions, its the same exam as the 2394 so it also includes initial verification. its multiple choice so its not very difficult. I got 94% I think you only need 60% to pass

    if its just a normal light fitting then the IP rating is not suited to the zone so it would be C2 at the very least.
