    socket

I've always thought that the sole purpose of the Fuse/MCB was to protect the cable ie the MCB needs to be equal to or less than the maximum current carrying capacity of the cable. So in this case, the 32A MCB is not suitable.....

UH3 to boiler connection help please...

Ha ha...you know what it's like...if anything is gonna go wrong it'll happen while you're away and not there to sort it out! Maybe I'll turn off my phone while I enjoy the ski slopes :smiley2:

UH3 to boiler connection help please...

Thanks, that's reassuring as I did this yesterday...I will be on Holiday when the plumber turns up to commission the boiler so hopefully it'll all work! I didn't link a live to the 'in' at the UH3 though, the boiler instructions didn't mention this. Cheers :smiley2:

UH3 to boiler connection help please...

I am wiring a UH3 to a Grant Vortex Pro internal combi. The heating system is underfloor only, no rads, and no DHW storage. I have stats and a time clock wired into the UH3. I have a supply to the boiler. My question is, where do i terminate the UH3's 'boiler in/out' wires within the boiler...

    Kt63?

I'm in the process of attempting to get a new supply cable to the property and hopefully use suppliers earth. This could take some time though...and yes, the property may well be in the sea by then! :-) I don't fancy digging trenches for earth mesh/tape etc, I still don't think they'll be very...

    Kt63?

Did I mention 'rocky'? I struggled to get a single 1meter rod in anywhere! The best reading was found by sticking the rod in almost horizontally into the limited 'top soil' but this can't be a permanent fixture as the 'top soil' is being constantly eroded.

    Kt63?

Fed up with not having a 'no trip' loop test function on my KT62 multitester I decided to upgrade to a KT63. I was eager to play with my new toy today but ended up very disapointed. It wouldn't perform the loop test, presumably because it's a TT system with a ZE around 800ohms and the KT63 only...

    PV Wiring help pls...

Thanks guys, I had thought about trunking but thought there may be a neater way of doing things. All the AC/DC isolators have round conduit openings and square trunking looks a bit naff butted up to things. I wonder why they don't use meters with connections more suitable for pv installations...

    PV Wiring help pls...

I'm currently refitting a pv system which was removed while building work was carried out. I didn't remove the system myself so don't know how it was wired before. The issue I have is that the generation meter has terminations suitable for upto 25mm tails. The AC supply to this is in 4mm...

That sounds like it would work, but what's the difference between a contactor and a relay?

    Relay help please...

I have been wiring a heating system. The main hot water tank is heated by an oil boiler, a multifuel rayburn, some solar panels, and an electric immersion. There are 4 seperate heating zones including two underfloor with network stats and a separate circuit for towel rails. This is not like any...

    Testing questions?

Ah, thanks for that. So it is a TNS supply rather than a TNCS then? The Ze seems rather good for a TNS supply though??

    Testing questions?

Yes it's well within requirements, but usually get around 12ms with the regular rcd's (as opposed to these rcbo's)

    Testing questions?

This is a complete rewire so a new installation cert. And so yes, I'm also the 'designer' :-)
