How can they justify the increase in your electricity bill !?

Some replies on this thread make me think that some people are missing their £50 referral fee for those "little" energy providers. As for prices and what to do ? How do the rest of the world manage ? How about France our nearest neighbour ? 4% increase is it not ? Do they have lots of small...

How can they justify the increase in your electricity bill !?

Renewables price was subsidised by those who used fossil fuels. Now it is the other way round. End of the day it is a case of all in it together. Where have I heard that before ?

    Labour rates (Domestic electrician)?

Put it this way if you can get a qualified person to do work for you at £300 per day or even lower then you are correct. If you can't then you are simply incorrect. The market decides not the individual customer nor the builder next door. I am pretty tight in what I pay my electrician (ME) but...

Get 18th, Get testing and inspection, go to work?

For the sake of completeness one of my lads passed all his stuff, Done sparking for a year and then went on to become a bespoke conservatory installer. I think he does the electrical side himself but still...Maybe I put him off lol. Take care guys have a great next year.

So you having issues with apprentices not putting their phone down ? Hmm mines are always too busy in work time. There is NEVER nothing to do...Day 1 week 1. BTW I am not having a go at YOU as a spark or teacher in your own right. The line you quoted along with the response must be the most...

Get 18th, Get testing and inspection, go to work?

I despise this sweeping type of comment. I mean I served my time well within your "good days range" eg much more than 20 years ago. But - The type of post and statements such as not as skilled/competent/up to standard as they used to be ? Does that mean that all of us who passed our...

how to detect easily damaged cable under floorboards

I think reasonably priced would be subjective as anybody visiting your property would have to pay nearly £30 if they don't have a nearly new van. That doesn't include parking nor fuel lol. Plus what you are looking at is a call out charge which usually includes first hour and then an hourly rate...

John Higgins snooker player - Every day in my local snooker club for about 7 years lol - he was a tad better than me but i prepared him for all that clearing up at the end of a frame which has become his trademark - I achieved this by allowing him to give me a 7 up/down point start per frame...

    Ripped off by cowboy

I think what some of the guy's are saying is watch out as you might find that electrician 1 has been a little shoddy or even "followed what you asked for to the letter) albeit his apprentice drilled through wall 6 times - i mean that is careless but can usually be "fixed" pretty easily. It is...

General Practitioners Receptionistsm don't you just love em?

I used to think the docs receptionists were over inflated egomaniacs.....BUT - I am referring to my local GP's surgery here - They get tons of "I have a spot up my nose, I have a sore throat, I have a readily transmittable cold". These are NOT GP problems, They do NOT require GP diagnosis nor...

Unable to separate wires on ring circuit

move original socket up to where you have cut the conduit - connect old conduit to new backbox via bush and coupler. Knockout bottom 20mm out of back box and spur off your 1 extra socket to where the original one was....Now there is no shame in not being able to complete this task....you gave it...

Britain Leave the European Union (Please be polite with other people's views)

Some of the stuff posted on here by people with a decent level of education is pretty dam frightening. I mean it really is. Our job sort of gives us a diagnostic orientated brain...or it bloody well should. Have any of you heard the term echo chamber? Is it the case that when someone posts up...

    Remember mike harding ?

A real leader would just stand up and say Article 50 is cancelled I will NOT and can not standby and allow us to contract our economy. I refuse to do so. I will spend the rest of the parliament on treating the issues that I believe caused the concern that prompted people to vote to leave the EU...
