    Ah, if it is a double pole switch and it closes live first then the whole lot will be at 230V above earth and the surge protector will then provide a path live to earth. Also the transformer will take a while to settle down and could provide some interesting spikes.

    Hi, Daft question how do I get to see the fault codes? In your case check the length of the sub main from the inverter to the cut out, it will only cause the votlage at the inverter to be even higher.

    UVC is nasty, you do need two seperate safety switches to cover for a number of safe under single fault conditions. Can't you just buy a unit ready built?

    Something is amiss at the Science Museum London, lots of the building have a varity of hired in battery LED lighting and the rest is closed due to urgent maintance... Sounds like they are needing a electrician or two and I suspect they are on a central battery installation.

    Hi, Go and find the required BS or EN standard and design to it. For comparison BS EN60950 (computers and domestic electronics) requires something like a 25A 60 second test on the earth bond for type testing.

    Ok, we are now starting to get somewhere please do the following. Take another photo of the fuse box /consumer unit, this time so we can read all the labels (stand on a step ladder) I would expect to find two fuse boxes / consumer units please look carefuly for another one.
