one of my mates did it as he is a bricklayer and basically tells you what any one knows the different types and what protection to use, but it does look good on the cv.
That's what I'm worried about the house I'm in has just sold and is rather not rent again won't find out till next week but don't know what bank will b best
iv been asked to add some spots and some sockets in a house at the min it has a old wylex board with push button fuses the board has no rcd but there is one on the tails is this acceptable and yes i will be earthing water and oil supply
cheers for that amazing what you forget from you college days such a simple calculation and could i hell think how to do it.
yea il give that a go hopefully that will be all it is, on another note have any of you ever seen damage to the main earth clamp/sheath before from arcing?
yes the readings are through rcds though i have never had this problem before when doing so. this may be a stupid question but how do u calculate that ?
With the 17th edition db you need to try and get upstairs lights and downstairs sockets on one rcd and the reverse on another rcd and try to evenly balance the load between the two, i wouldn't bother just putting a rcd board in id go for the 17th edition one its just a better job.
it is a tns system and i tested at the db on just the main earth and the sheath of the supply and reading was the same 0.75ohm. the only odd thing about it was there was some damage to the sheath of the supply and the original earth clamp had signs of arcing perhaps a previous fault and a loose...
well it depends how new to this you are have you done a db by yourself before and do you know how to correctly split up circuits, and have you checked gas and water are earthed and such?
