Could this lead to future problem?

Went to wire out a small garage today & the owner had already ran the SWA in. He's got it in ducting underneath the patio but he's obviously went & took it through the garage floor when the cement was wet or poured the cement in all round the cable. It's not in ducting in the garage, instead is...

    Suitable cable for outside light?

I've seen twin & earth that's lasted for a similar job nearly 20 years!! Some people have no shame clipping this to the side of a house!!

    Suitable cable for outside light?

I can decide alright, just checking others views. Some cable's are going to last better than others so wanted to gather opinion.

    Suitable cable for outside light?

You seem like a bit of an a**e to be honest. I'd rather you didn't post on my threads unless you had something helpful to post. Not surprised to be honest though considering your from Glasgow yet have still managed to miss out a w in the Glasgow part of your username.

    Suitable cable for outside light?

Problem? Thanks. The black core flex they suggested seemed fine, just not sure how long it would last due to weather! Yes, I always use drip loops.

    Suitable cable for outside light?

What's the best type of cable to used for an outside light where the cable is going to be exposed for about 4-5 meters where it drops vertically to the light? They suggested a type of flex to me in CEF today, can't for the life of me remember the type but it was black with a rubbery kind of...

    Lighting fault!

This gets stranger by the minute! I had the chance to have a look at it myself with him today. Problem was still present, checked connections etc, they were all fine. Changed the switches, still same problem. Disconnected the 3-core & earth at both ends & just as a small test took a small new...

    Lighting fault!

Thanks. Seems quite a common problem. Can I ask why it is only happening to the new circuit & not the other circuit that has from what I can gather, used the same lights & lamps?

    Lighting fault!

Bit more info for you guys, ha. He says that these 4 new lights are on their own new circuit as there was no room on the other circuit. Does this change anything?! See if he was to swap the LED's for normal GU10's would this clear the problem seen as it could be the LED's that are causing it?

    Lighting fault!

Do you think this would get rid of the problem? Second switch to be connected as normal or same as this? I'm confused! lol.

    Lighting fault!

He's got them connected in L1- feed & black (from 3-core) L2-switch wire to light & grey (from 3-core) & brown from 3-core in common.

    Lighting fault!

I'll just text him to see give me 2 mins.

    Lighting fault!

Thanks. Once he totally disconnects the 3-core from both ends & just connects the feed into comm & switch into L1 everything seems to be fine? I'll find out which kind of lamps he used. Snubber? Sure is. See the thing is when I e-mailed him back he mentioned that he had done his dining...

    Lighting fault!

One of the boys I go to college with has a strange lighting fault. I've copied & pasted the e-mail he sent below to see what you guys think. I'm pretty puzzled tbh. Right basically I've wired 4 spotlights with LED lamps. The wiring goes like so; feed & neutral to first switch with switch &...

    Fault query!

Not qualified yet no. Have seen plenty people ask for advice on this forum that you can tell aren't electricians though. Don't worry problem solved & wasn't as basic as people think considering nobody here got it. Thanks for those that offered their help though and this is the last I'll be...

    Fault query!

Amongst all the helpful folk on this forum it seems there is also a lot of absolute tubes. If you don't have anything decent to contribute stay off my thread please instead of getting all high and mighty about someone asking for advice.

    Fault query!

No, still same plugtop & fuse from when I got it, factory plugtop fuse. Nothing tripped in the consumer unit either. Very strange.
