    Advice for a bill/dispute

Why would you let someone work on your property without providing a a quotation? Especially if the end value is going to matter to you? I agree both to blame, sparky sounds a bit dodge but at least the work got done. Why did you let it go on so far? Shouldn’t you have said something at the time?

Should I use 1mm or 1.5mm earth in domestic lighthing?

I don’t see a problem with doing it with a knife. I just think it’s a faff and more risk of catching the cables. Trying to get your knife in a small accessory box is a pain.

Should I use 1mm or 1.5mm earth in domestic lighthing?

I am going to disagree. I still cut a neat edge with my knife at the end of the cable. If you connect 10 sockets on a RFC and connected them both ways. I bet the resistance of the cpc ring is the same. A lot of rubbish. My college didn’t even bother telling us otherwise.

Should I use 1mm or 1.5mm earth in domestic lighthing?

Please don’t tell me we are still reverting to the “ your going to stress the copper conductor, therefor decreases CSA, therefore an immediate fire risk.” o_O I strip it like that, not one of my jobs has ever went wrong

    Plasterers it’s your job!!

I remember when trades were nice to each other on site and looked out for their fellow comrades. Yes there is a single box that needs to be used beneath that finishing plaster. They would plaster round a window to a good standard, so why not a socket box neatly

    Trapped Key Isolation Failure

You shouldn’t rely on a control circuit for primary means of isolation. Is there not another means of isolation? Does the main panel not have a Isolator which breaks the electrical supply to all the machine & can be locked out?
