Alright guys
I'm looking to take out tool cover and read this in the exclusions...
'DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM’ shall mean any computer or data processing equipment or media or
microchip or integrated circuit or any similar devices or any computer software or computer firmware.'
I don't know if...
I've been testing some flats that have immersion heaters, 2 supplies - daytime and off peak. The off peak supply is wired from the meter through a contactor then back into the mcb, with the outgoing supply to the immersion heater coming from the contactor. However, when the mcb is isolated, the...
Mainly for the lack of RCD protection on sockets, cables in walls etc... I was not aware you could get RCBO's to fit in them tbh. And like i said a few posts ago, i've worked for some testing companies who insisted on a code 3 and a recommendation for them to be replaced.
Aye, that was my thinking to be honest. I've worked for companies before who insisted on a code 3 and recommend replacing them. Dodgy testing companies! Haha.
Cheers.
S'up....
I started doing an EICR on a massive property today, it's actually a mansion! The owners tell me it was rewired about 30 yrs ago when they moved in. All the DB's are crabtree c50's, ugly looking things. There's about 8 of them. Just wanted some other opinions really with regard to...
Most the hotels i've tested usually have 1 DB supplying 2 rooms, located in the riser between the 2 rooms. Usually fed by a 10 or 16mm T+E, protected by a 32 or 40A MCB back at the sub board on the same floor. Never seen a sub board supplied by a 16mm T+E. They're usually a 25mm SWA at least...
I'm rewiring my mate's house, so figured it'd be good to use for my Napit assessment. The thing is, he wants to totally refurb the kitchen at a much later date, so doesn't really want new power circuits putting in there yet. My query is... Will Mr Napit assessor be satisfied if i rewire the rest...
I'm not 100% sure, but won't you need an earth rod at the garage if it's a PME system and being outside the equipotential zone from the main installation?
Without knowing the demands of the cooker/shower etc, it's tough to say. If it's a a normal swa, not xlpe, clipped direct, a 16mm can carry around 89 amps. Assuming diversity, i would say it'd be ok. That's just my opinion/theory though.
Yeah, I know you're supposed to be registered with one of the robdog bodies, just wondered what the Part P was all about? Everyone tells you something different!
I'm considering self employment as the company I work for are complete arseholes! With regard to part P, is that really a must have? I already have the 2391 qualification, doesn't that show that I'm competent?
