We all know the 18th edition is going to be forced on us next year.
So my question is, who makes these important decisions, not just what is included but the over reliance on making changes too often .................. I'd like to hear their justifications for making the seemingly too frequent...
probably been discussed but I can't find this info I'm wanting
Anyway once the 18th is active and we all need to spend ££££ on our new bibles will there be a short update exam or a full 18th edition exam
Thanks
Ive recently watched some short online videos from the NICEIC which talks about some of the changes that will be incorporated in the 18th edition. One of these changes i think says that all socket outlets upto 32a will require RCD protection.
I have recently been to look at a job where the...
For anyone yet to sit down with the 18th Edition Public Draft, I've put together some youtube vids highlighting the majority of the proposed changes which you may find helpful.
Wiring Regulations - YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg1OV4f2xHzViuHZNUkisjMcdHEUG2w6x
With the new edition of the wiring regs due out in January 2018 who should be paying for the course? I'm cards in with a company and am hoping they will foot the cost of the training and time to complete the course etc. I will obviously purchase the new regs book myself and the OSG, but is there...

The bsi web site says its due for release at the close of play today.
Just need to think where I can borrow the money for the course, exam and books.
If you want to...
Electrical Safety First’s recent electrical installation safety roundtable focused on open-circuit PEN conductors, which serve as both a protective earthing and neutral conductor. Although PEN conductors within installations have been prohibited for some time now, older ones still remain in, for...

The CENELEC requirements were adopted in the 15th edition but if we are no...
I was just wondering how the Brexit will impact on the impending 18th? Will all the EN standards be removed? Will we go back to a pure BS only standards?
Interesting times!
BTW, I don't want to start a debate about the referendum result.....:38:
