Hi,
I am trying to determine the Ka rating of the above fuse. For 400V I believe it is 80 Ka but have found that it is 40 Ka for 250V DC. Can anyone tell me what it is for 230V AC or where I can find the answer?
I have already looked on the web and in the latest OSG but maybe not in the right...
Hi
Does anyone know a way this can can be done
I want to wire some usb sockets up the same type you can find in cars, up to a fused connection unit how do I go about doing this.

Hi everyone,
I want to install 400V HPS light (600W) on site without three phase supply.
I looked at step-up transformers and various inverters but I couldn't find one which takes 230V a.c. and gives 400V a.c. and is rated at minimum 0.6kW.
What I have found is this...
Hello all,
I have recently attended a job where a row of lights have gone out and was advised and seen for myself when i got there that no breakers have tripped.

Hi i recently informed a customer that they needed an enclosed fitting in the bathroom. They had a batten holder with the rose above 2.25 m but the lamp was below 2.25 m meaning the 230v lamp is in zone 2. Its a PME system and the lights are not on an RCD.
The customer has been told that i was...
Hi guys, as we know the limit under G83 is 16 amps at 230v export, does anyone know if this is capped to export to the grid or limited from the inverter under the regulations? point being if a base load of say 320 watts for instance at a house and the inverter was generating 4.0kw then only 16...
Hi guys , new to the forum I have been given a motor by a friend to see if I can get it working for him , its from a compressor , not sure of the make of the compressor but the motor has a stamped panel on the side which shows all the details , they are as follows

Hi chaps,
I'm in the midst of kitting out my motorhome (converted Renault Master).
Going to have a 1000w inverter in there to feed a couple of 230v outlets.
Trying to work out how much more efficient it will be to get a charger for my laptop which will convert directly from the 12v vehicle...

hi all, I'd like to purchase an american version/model of an electrical appliance to use in the UK.
the reason is because i'm getting it at an unbeatable price. but of course, it is manufactured for north american voltage at 120V and not the UK 230V. and the manufacturer warns in the disclaimer...
I know this might sound like a daft question and I think I know the answer, but a Hager bs88 fuse carrier is rated at 415v three phase, I want to use it for 230v single phase, for a welder, I take it there's nothing wrong with that as long as the readings are ok, I haven't tested or even...
hi all, having an issue at work where the heating wont turn off. wiring is all ok and been tested, the stat is switching fine although it is reading 24v at the switched live at the stat when its turned down which im thinking is a backfeed from the boiler of some kind.
Have replaced a few stats...
I'm building a new head for a milling machine using a three phase motor and VFD.
VFD's seem to be much cheaper for 230v rather than 400v, is there any disadvantage to running a motor at 230v TP than 400v TP?
I have a 400v three phase supply.
Thanks,
Hi all
Hope everyone enjoyed wknd. My day been spent trying to get head in testing books to prepare for exams. Not got much testing experience so trying to make most of time and testing a few circuits I indoors. Probably missing something really obvious but this bothering me a bit. When...

Lighting circuit, 8 lights. Two lights working on the circuit and six not. The two working look like the first two going clockwise from the CCU.
Is this likely to be a loose neutral somewhere? Or more likely that the switch live has been switched with the...

I came across a 230v LED GU10 lamp the other day which fits into a standard downlighter, how would this work as it is my understand that LED's require a DC supply, if used on an AC supply they would flicker as the Diode only allows current to flow in one direction?
