Hi guys, Just chatting to my neighbour over the fence and he says hes just changed his broken shower like for like. He told me that it is a 10kw shower run off 6mm off a 45amp breaker. I was thinking to my self that not right its gotta be 10mm cable. I thought I would ask here before getting my...

We have a 6mm cable fused at 32A at the CU with no RCD.

Was working at a house today that had a 6mm earth which obviously needs to be upgraded but was just wondering when this size or if this size has ever been acceptable?

When bonding to gas 10mm seems to be the norm these days. I came across a pme install with a 60 amp cut out and 16mm tails with 10mm main cpc. The bond was in 6mm with R2 well under 0.5 ohms. So I ask the question, should this be upgraded to 10mm or will 6mm suffice, and if so why?
Would be...

Would it be okay to use the existing the old green sleeved 6mm main bonding cable to gas/water as customer does not want any wiring or floorboards lifted up.
Will i have to state this in the departures box or comments box that mainn bonding was not upgraded
Hi Guys,
I have started a PIR at a house today and the cooker supply leaves the CU as a 6mm T+E (32amp MCB) and at the cooker Switch it's a 2.5mm T+E.
The previous owner was a real cowboy. :(
I'm guessing the old cooker switch was in the wrong place so he extended it with 2.5 T+E and sealed...
Got a shower to wire the length of the run is about 4m to d/p switch would i get away with 6mm ???yeah a would norm run a 10mm but this is for a friend who is struggling wi ££££!!and i have a load of 6mm!!! the shower is a 9.5 kw

Client wants cooker moving and therefore a longer cable run is required, the existing cable tests out fine with >299M ohms and good continuity.
The cable has been run behind old oak panel which client does not want touching, so whats my best option for joining 6mm cable that meets regs?
Thank you
was doing some work in a kitchen this week, there are 2 sockets that are run off the old cooker circuit, 6mm t&e into the first socket then 2.5 from that to the other.... mcb has been changed to a 20a one.
is this ok?
