Did a condition report today found an 8.5kw shower on 40 amp breaker with 6mm cable. It's ran through wooden box section from fuseboard to bathroom so in free air but I then thinks its been chasedinto the wall as it enters the bathroom. Do you think this requires a code?
Hi guys,
I can not decide to fail this or not:
6mm t&e in domestic environment, cables in mini trunking, on a 40a MCB
I would use 10mm of course, but am seeing this in many flats so is it acceptable or its a fail on the EICR?

The cheap square nuts that come with roofing nuts!
Is there such a tool that fits them, a socket or spanner would be nice!
I'm fed up of tightening them with pliers especially with 1000s in some on the trays and ladders on big jobs!
Just double checking that these are the right crimps for the job,
My new cooker needs to be connected by 6mm eyelet crimp connectors the ones I have found are Cable size: 4-6mm². Imax: 48A, am I correct in thinking that these are rated to 48amps and wound be fine on a 30amp double oven cooker?
Hi,
This is the scenario;
The kitchen is now converted into a bedroom and there is a bathroom adjacent to that bedroom. The client asked me to re-route the 6mm cable and install a electric shower in the bathroom.

Went to a job today where a lovely new bathroom has just been fitted upstairs with a new 8.5 Kw shower replacing a 7.2kw one. After a few minutes in the shower the MCB trips. The shower was fully turned up and when I asked the customer they said that they always ran it like this. On inspecting...
Installers are here, they want to use 4mm for the 9m run of AC cable, I thought the general opinion was that 6mm was better, ie less of a power loss.
Quick reply needed!

Can someone please clarify for me? I have installed a circuit on a TT system but the gas and water only have 6mm bonding. Does this mean I have to upgrade it or just note it on the cert and advise the customer?
Many thanks
